Uncover your inner peace: Tame fear's hold today.
Hi !
Softening Fear’s Hold: Befriending Your Inner Landscape
As the world stirs into spring, I’ve been reflecting on the parts of us that have forgotten how to rest. Maybe it’s the vigilant voice that scans for threats, the inner critic that pushes for more, or the part that wants to retreat when things feel overwhelming. These protectors work tirelessly, often without pause, holding the belief that only they can keep us safe.
In
my own journey—and in so many conversations with you—I see how easy it is to become frustrated with these parts. We might try to silence them or "fix" ourselves, but what if these responses aren’t failures? What if, instead, they are like gardeners working double shifts, simply unsure that it’s safe to rest?
From Fighting to Tending: A New Way In
At my recent Healing Happens in Connection event, we explored the transformative power of
speaking for our parts, rather than from them. There’s a profound shift that happens when we move from "I am terrified" to "I have a part of me that is feeling terrified right now." That tiny breath of space allows your Wise Gardener—the core of your healing self—to step in and offer the protection those parts truly need.
I invite you to pause and reflect: Which part of you is working the hardest to keep you safe today? Is it the Watchful
Gatekeeper, the Critical Pruner, or another familiar voice? Try replacing "I am" with "I have a part that is…" and notice if the grip of fear softens, even a little.
Upcoming Session: Intro To Befriend Your Story—Softening Fear’s Hold
If you’re ready to move from “weeding” your life with urgency to tending it with presence, I warmly invite you to my next 60-minute session: Softening Fear’s Hold. We’ll use somatic mapping and parts work to dialogue with your protectors, helping them learn they don’t have to carry the load alone. If you can’t make it live, register
anyway and you’ll receive the full recording to explore in your own time.
Sometimes, the smallest reminders can help our parts know they’re not alone. I’m sharing a supportive video resource for you to revisit anytime your internal landscape feels restless or fearful:
